Better Life - Oz Island
OZ ISLAND is a prominent Aboriginal band created in Perth, WA who rose to great heights as a top WA Reggae band. Debuting with their first album, this album titled "Better Life" in 2012. They became very popular instantly and also won a number of awards and accolades for their album, songs and their own band status. Awards like Nominated WAM song of the year 2012, Artist of the Year Naidoc , Perth 2013, and the Deadly Awards for Most Promising New Talent 2013. OZ ISLAND has performed at big festivals and national events like National Naidoc Awards, Survival Day Concert Perth and they have performed at many festivals around Western Australia and Northern Territory. Sharing the stage with big artist such as Jessica Mauboy, Christine Anu, Troy Cassar Daley, Casey Donavon and Queen of the Kimberley Mary G. They always say "We always want to make the crowd feel the vibe of our music, dance and have fun"
OZ ISLAND have created their own unique style that blends Indigenous Rock Reggae with a mix of Tropical Island Reggae, to create the band OZ ISLAND. The band is made up of members who hail from the Kimberley and/or have strong northern connections. Some of the members each naturally talented are trained musician through Perth's Abmusic, having graduated from or finishing a Diploma in Music. The band has strong musical influences and inspirations like Letterstick Band, Saltwater Band. Fabian Cox and Geoffrey James founding members are related to the widely popular Kimberley's Artists and bands like, Footprince, Kerrianne Cox, Francis Cox, Mervyn Murlardy 'Yatangal' and Mary G, Black Queen of the Kimberley. This album is a very popular album and rumor has it they are now working on a 2nd album. A worthy album for your music collection.
